Christina M. Sorenson, O.D.
Dr. Christina Sorenson provides comprehensive optometric care with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular disease.
Dr. Sorenson is from Wisconsin and first came to the Valley in 1983. She received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from The University of Missouri. Dr. Sorenson completed her post-doctoral residency in low vision rehabilitation and hospital-based optometry at the Kansas City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Sorenson joins our practice after providing care in a glaucoma and cataract specialty surgical practice for several years. Previously Dr. Sorenson served as the inaugural Dean of Clinical Education for the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University and was on Faculty with Mayo Clinic Arizona Department of Ophthalmology for 15 years. She was also appointed by the Governor of Arizona to the Arizona State Board of Optometry and served two terms including Vice President and President. Moreover, Dr. Sorenson has served as president of the National Board of Examiners of Optometry and as president of the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry completing over 14 years of dedicated service to the profession of Optometry all while continuing her ongoing patient care. Proudly, she was named Arizona Optometrist of the Year by the Arizona Optometric Association.
In her spare time, she enjoys horses, hiking and kayaking. In addition, she was an author for Medscape and is currently working on a series of children’s novels. She looks forward to providing you excellent care.
